Medical City Sachse celebrates one-year anniversary
Medical City Sachse marks year of caring for the community with $5,000 donation.
Medical City Sachse celebrated its first anniversary as part of the Medical City Healthcare system with a reception for colleagues, community leaders and partners on March 6, plus donations of $2,500 each to the Garland ISD Education Foundation and the Wylie ISD Education Foundation.
Over the past year, the hospital has invested in new services and facilities to further advance the care it provides for patients in Sachse, Murphy, Wylie, Rowlett, Garland and surrounding communities. Among its major milestones in the past year:
- Expanded new surgical services to include gynecology and orthopedics
- Launched a life-saving cardiovascular program to provide faster and more comprehensive care for heart patients
- Added minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgeries
“Drawing on the deep resources of Medical City Healthcare, we are proud to provide high-quality, compassionate care close to home in this growing community,” says Ben Coogan, CEO of Medical City Sachse. “We are also delighted to support our community through donations, sponsorships and involvement, including area school districts, that reflect how we care like family for our friends and neighbors.”
With the addition of a cardiac catheterization (Cath) lab and a STEMI (ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction) program, Medical City Sachse can now treat the most severe type of heart attacks, which occur when a coronary artery is almost completely blocked, preventing essential blood and oxygen flow to the heart. The heart team can now open a blocked artery using percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), a treatment that can only be performed by a hospital with a cardiac Cath lab.
In February 2024, Medical City Healthcare acquired Trinity Regional Hospital Sachse, which had filed for bankruptcy, and warmly welcomed the community hospital as Medical City Sachse.
