Postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency
PGY1 pharmacy residencies build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Medical City Plano provides the resident with diverse clinical and operational experiences in a variety of settings. This residency fosters growth and development of pharmacy graduates through a structured curriculum with diverse learning experiences that emphasize exceptional patient care and optimizing medication use.
Staffing and benefits
Residents are full-time, benefits-eligible employees of Medical City Plano. Residents will staff, on average, every other weekend. Benefits include:

Application requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy or candidate
- ACPE-accredited pharmacy school or school seeking accreditation
- Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Committee (FPGEC) certification is required for graduates of ACPE-accredited schools (or schools seeking ACPE accreditation) outside of the United States
- ACPE-accredited pharmacy school or school seeking accreditation
- Eligible for Texas pharmacist licensure
- Submission of the following through PhORCAS:

- Letter of intent
- Three (3) completed references using standard PhORCAS template
- Copy of official pharmacy school transcripts
