An EAP is a free, confidential, worksite-based program offering a safe space to discuss personal and professional struggles. It offers assessments, short-term counseling, referrals and follow-up services to assist you, our employees.

Personal issues regarding health, marriage, family, finances, substance abuse, legal matters, emotional problems, stress and other issues can affect your job performance. EAP can address work productivity issues and help you identify and resolve personal concerns.

We partner with individuals, managers and departments to enhance the opportunity for and access to support, education and counseling. Our systematic approach was thoughtfully created to not only serve those who are able and willing to enter into counseling but also to provide outreach and educational services to the hospital as a whole.

Our services

The Employee Assistance Program offers employees eight counseling sessions annually. It also offers referral services for family members. We can help you integrate and achieve balance with work and family demands to create a more effective, healthy and productive workplace.

An outside organization can quickly and easily request the verification of physicians in good standing at an HCA facility. The requesting organization may self-generate and print a verification letter.

Our security office is located at 609 Medical Center Drive in Decatur. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am through 4:00pm.

We offer a dedicated physician lounge on the third floor, adjacent to the surgery wing. Catered breakfast and lunch options are available Monday through Friday. The lounge includes a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, flat screen television and several computers equipped with high-speed internet access in addition to a printer and fax machine.

Cafeteria

Physicians are also welcome to stop by our hospital cafeteria. The cafeteria is located on the first floor.

Dragon Medical One is a speech recognition software that allows for dictation directly into the electronic medical records (EMR) There are 20 PowerMics at various physician dictation areas, and we are currently placing PowerMics at every remaining physician dictation station. To use Dragon Medical One within Soarian, you will need an account licensed by Medical City Healthcare.
