You don’t have to be an ER doctor to know how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) – a potentially life-saving measure for someone suffering from cardiac arrest. Dr. Matt Bush, an emergency medicine physician at Medical City Dallas, explains the two simple steps of hands-only CPR:

  • Call 911
  • Place your interlocked hands on the victim’s chest and push hard and fast to the beat of “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees.

There is no need for mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. And, good news, bystander CPR can triple the victim’s chances of survival. Don’t be afraid to try! You could potentially save the life of a loved one.
