Construction on the exclusive Women’s Hospital at Medical City Arlington is ramping up to include renovation of the existing Women’s Center first floor lobby, registration and OB emergency department. The hospital has posted signs inside and outside the facility, notifying patients and visitors where to go for services. OB-GYN physicians on staff at the hospital are also sharing information with their patients.
Through July 18, 2018:
All emergency OB patients should enter the facility through the hospital’s main emergency room facing Mayfield Rd.
Scheduled patients and guests should enter the facility through the hospital’s main entrance facing Matlock Rd.
Medical City Healthcare President Erol Akdamar and Medical City Arlington CEO Keith Zimmerman announced the construction for the $60 million Women’s Hospital project on August 7, 2017. Since the announcement, construction teams have been working diligently to ensure an on-time, spring 2019 debut.
Once complete, the facility will include:
- More than 125 thousand square feet of new and renovated space
- 2 new floors
- 55 additional beds
- 23 modern labor and delivery rooms
- 3 modern C-section operating rooms
- 3 women’s VIP suites
- 14 antepartum rooms
- 53 postpartum and gynecology rooms
- 35 Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit beds
- 35 nursery beds
Medical City Arlington currently delivers more than 4,300 babies each year. With increased capacity in the new Women’s Hospital, the facility will be able to accommodate more than 5,800 births annually.
