Dallas, Texas — Sports injuries and concussions, mental wellness and panic attacks, and emergency response – these are all serious student health issues that school nurses face on a daily basis. Thanks to a partnership with Medical City Healthcare, nurses from 36 North Texas school districts will receive free ongoing education and training to address these critical skills.
Medical City Healthcare’s School Nurse Education Series was created in 2017 in response to school health providers’ requests to emerging and evolving health trends in school-aged youth. Clinical experts from Medical City Healthcare have developed the curriculum along with community partners United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, EVERFI, Stop the Bleed® and the American Heart Association who are contributing expertise and educational materials. Medical City Healthcare, supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation, is a proud supporter of the American Heart Association’s Getting to the Heart of Stroke™ initiative to champion stroke prevention.
