Community members also vote Medical City Plano's childbirth classes as best in Collin County
"Medical City Plano is honored to be recognized by our community for our commitment to providing exceptional, high-quality and specialized care for mothers and babies," Medical City Plano CEO Charles Gressle said. "It is our privilege to help patients design a unique birthing experience just right for each mother, baby and family, while also offering the highest levels of medical care."
CollinChild polled nearly 9,000 moms in November on "Best for Moms and Babies" preferences across multiple categories. Winners are published in the childcare magazine's February issue. Readers chose Medical City Plano as the Best Place to Have a Baby in Collin County, in part, because "it really feels more like a hotel than a hospital."
"Moms stay loyal to Medical City Plano, thanks to a strong postpartum community that offers a weekly meet-up group, a Facebook forum moderated by a registered nurse and classes in infant care, CPR, breast pumping and feeding, plus prenatal yoga," according to the CollinChild article. "Labor rooms are equipped with adjustable lighting and Spotify access so that Mom can DJ her own delivery, while the spacious and private postpartum suites each feature memory-foam beds, a bathroom with tub, a kitchenette, a bedroom and a lounge area."
Medical City Plano was also honored for outstanding women's services in the Healthgrades 2018 Women's Care Awards. The hospital was among the top 10 percent nationally in providing outstanding quality outcomes.
