
Plano, TX – Vel Marks has been named vice president of human resources for Medical City Plano.
“Vel is a highly accomplished and results-driven executive with more than 15 years of human resources experience in diverse healthcare settings,” says Jyric Sims, CEO of Medical City Plano. “She is known for innovation and transformational leadership. Previously, Marks’ roles included director of human resources for Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Lovelace Westside Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, and Lorien Bel Air Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Bel Air, MD. A few of her many contributions to these organizations include improvements in employee engagement, retention, recognition, talent development, and onboarding. Additionally, she served as the leader of human resources efforts to obtain successful nursing Magnet and Joint Commission certifications.
Marks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and a Master in Human Resources Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
