North Richland Hills – Medical City North Hills has been awarded an “A” in The Leapfrog Group’s fall 2020 Hospital Safety Grade. Leapfrog recognized the hospital with the top grade for protecting patients from medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care for the fifth consecutive time.
Ten other Medical City Healthcare hospitals were also awarded an A grade, more than any other hospital system in North Texas.
Medical City Alliance, Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas, Medical City Denton, Medical City Fort Worth, Medical City Frisco, Medical City Las Colinas, Medical City Lewisville, Medical City McKinney, and Medical City Plano were also recognized for protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
“Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19 and the pandemic, patients and their family deserve a safe environment,” says Mark Deno, CEO of Medical City North Hills. “This award validates that Medical City North Hills offers excellence always in every action, every patient, every time.”
“We are extremely grateful to hospital leadership and health care workers who have remained steadfast in prioritizing patient safety as our nation battles COVID-19,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “This ‘A’ is a testament to the care and commitment of those who work for Medical City Healthcare hospitals. With the current pandemic exposing existing flaws within the U.S. health care system, we appreciate you putting patient safety first. Lives depend on it.”
Developed under the guidance of a national Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
