Certification reflects highest level of care for stroke events

Fort Worth, TX — Medical City Fort Worth has been recertified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC), the highest level of certification for stroke care. CSC certification ensures that Medical City Fort Worth has the personnel, infrastructure, and expertise to diagnose and treat stroke patients who require intensive medical and surgical care, specialized tests or interventional therapies.

As part of the process, Medical City Fort Worth underwent a rigorous on-site review in May, confirming its ability to effectively treat the most complex stroke cases.

"Medical City Fort Worth is dedicated to providing the best care possible for patients who present at our hospital with stroke symptoms," said Jyric Sims, CEO, Medical City Fort Worth. "The certification validates these efforts and ensures that we are following the highest standards to ensure that stroke patients have the best outcome possible."

Medical City Fort Worth was the first hospital in Tarrant County to earn the CSC designation in 2013. Recertification lasts for three years and includes regular site visits to ensure continued compliance. The CSC certification integrates certain requirements of the CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals, Guidelines of the Brain Attack Coalition, and Recommendations of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association®.
