FORT WORTH, TX – Medical City Fort Worth has been recertified with The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a hospital’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. Medical City Fort Worth first earned Chest Pain Certification from The Joint Commission in 2017.
"This recertification is further validation of the high quality care provided by our expert heart and vascular team,” says Jyric Sims, CEO, Medical City Fort Worth. “We are pleased to once again be recognized by The Joint Commission, the premier healthcare quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation.”
Medical City Fort Worth underwent a rigorous onsite review where a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with various related chest pain certification standards including evidence-based clinical guidelines and continuous quality improvement performance metrics.
“Chest Pain Certification recognizes healthcare organizations committed to fostering continuous quality improvement in patient safety and quality of care,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification operations and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Medical City Fort Worth for using certification to reduce variation in its clinical processes and to strengthen its program structure and management framework for chest pain patients.”
