Medical City Fort Worth, only Fort Worth hospital “A” rated by the Leapfrog Group for spring 2022

Fort Worth – Medical City Fort Worth received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes Medical City Fort Worth’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital. Medical City Fort Worth was the only hospital in Fort Worth to receive an “A” rating for spring 2022.

“We are extremely proud of our record on patient safety and quality,” says Medical City Fort Worth CEO Ben Coogan. “This superior rating reinforces why Medical City Fort Worth is the destination of choice for healthcare excellence in Fort Worth and the surrounding community.”

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.

“As our health care system continues to feel the strain of the pandemic, I thank the workforce and leadership of Medical City Fort Worth for sustained commitment to patient safety, day in and day out,” says Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “An ‘A’ Safety Grade is an outstanding achievement, and one that is not possible without a 24/7 effort by the entire health care workforce to protect patients from harm. This community should be proud.”

Medical City Fort Worth is one of ten Medical City Healthcare hospitals to be recognized with an “A” including Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas, Medical City Denton, Medical City Frisco, Medical City Las Colinas, Medical City Lewisville, Medical City McKinney, Medical City Plano and Medical City Weatherford.
