Sims serves as chief executive officer of Medical City Fort Worth, a 320-bed hospital with more than 1200 employees and a graduate medical education program with 90 residents and fellows. He has previously served in hospital executive roles in Florida, Texas and Louisiana during his 8-year career with HCA Healthcare, parent company of Medical City Healthcare.
"I am honored to have been chosen as a representative on the LSU Foundation Board of Directors," said Sims. "As a proud alumnus of LSU, this opportunity will allow me to give back to the university that I love so dearly."
The LSU Foundation is the primary fundraising entity for academics at Louisiana State University and is a leader in the university's current $1.5 billion Fierce for the Future Campaign.
"Jyric is joining our Board at a pivotal time for LSU, just a few months after the public launch of the largest fundraising campaign for higher education in the history of Louisiana," said Clarence P. Cazalot Jr., chairperson of the LSU Foundation Board of Directors. "He exemplifies the quality of leaders LSU produces, and we are grateful for the skills and experiences he brings."
Sims has received many honors in his healthcare career including the DFW Hospital Council 2018 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year, the National Association of Healthcare Executives 2017 National Healthcare Executive of the Year, and Modern Healthcare's Up and Comer Award in 2016. He was appointed to serve on a national delegation to Israel, he currently serves on the LSU National Diversity Advisory Board and is an adjunct faculty member at Tulane University School of Public Health.
