
Brandy Farrer, MSC, RN, NEA-BC, has been selected as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Medical City Denton, starting March 1. Brandy has been CNO at Medical City Lewisville since 2014 after joining the facility in 2009 as assistant vice president of acute critical care services. As CNO, Brandy will have direct reporting responsibility for all nursing-related reports.
Brandy has more than 20 years of nursing experience and has spent the last 15 years serving in leadership positions within Medical City Healthcare. Her clinical nursing experience includes emergency medicine, critical care, cardiac catheterization lab and recovery room. At Medical City Lewisville, she helped increase critical care volume, earn the hospital stroke and chest pain accreditation and led the hospital through the expansion of cardiothoracic services, including open-heart surgery and interventional cardiac cath lab service. Under her leadership, employee engagement scores in acute and critical care rose to HCA Healthcare’s top 10 percent.
Brandy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Georgia College and a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is Nurse Executive-Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and an active member of the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She was selected as one of the DFW Great 100 Nurses in 2014.
