When Karen Adams was diagnosed with placenta accreta, a potentially life-threatening condition when the placenta becomes abnormally attached to the uterine wall, she was referred to Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas. Her care team successfully delivered her third baby girl, Harper, who is turning one this month. Karen says, “Looking back, the care we received was just amazing. The antepartum staff truly kept me grounded. Everyone who took care of me, from the dietitians, the accreta team, the NICU — they weren’t just my doctors and nurses, they were really there for me. I thank god every day for them and still keep in touch with them because we are forever grateful for the impact they had on our family.”
