Jonathan Clarke named CMO for Medical City Plano, Medical City Frisco
New chief medical officer joins executive team of Collin County hospitals.
Plano, Texas — Jonathan Clarke, MD, has been named chief medical officer (CMO) for Medical City Plano and Medical City Frisco, starting Oct. 2.
A U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Clarke most recently served as CMO of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast. Dr. Clarke and his team advanced patient safety and quality outcomes and helped expand hospital services to better serve patients while enhancing physician engagement.

Previously, Dr. Clarke served as a regional medical director for Envision Healthcare in Dallas. He led significant improvements in quality measures, held multiple hospital committee leadership positions and led accreditation and reaccreditation of chest pain, stroke and trauma programs.
Board-certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Clarke is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). He also recently completed an MBA in Healthcare Management from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas.
Dr. Clarke earned his medical degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in 2002. Following additional training in aerospace physiology, he was designated a U.S. Naval flight surgeon and served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq. After completing his residency in emergency medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia in 2009, Dr. Clarke served as an emergency physician in Helmand, Afghanistan, during the 2010 Battle of Sangin. He transferred to the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2014, where he is a designated flight surgeon and continues to serve as an inactive reservist.
