Medical City Fort Worth achieves top national, Texas rankings for kidney transplants

Medical City Fort Worth is honored to receive the top ranking in Texas for kidney transplants.

Fort Worth, Texas — Medical City Fort Worth’s Transplant Institute is rated number one in Texas for kidney transplants, according to recently released data by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR). Additionally, the program is at the top of national ratings for one-year kidney survival. The institute's exceptional achievements demonstrate the unwavering commitment to outstanding patient outcomes and groundbreaking medical advancements.

In addition to its prestigious national ranking for kidney survival, Medical City Fort Worth's Transplant Institute, led by Surgical Director Ashraf Reyad, MD, and Medical Director Sridhar Allam, MD, secured the top spot in Texas for one-year survival and for getting a deceased donor transplant faster. These notable achievements underscore the institute's commitment to delivering comprehensive care, including post-transplant care, significantly influencing the survival rates of kidney transplant candidates.

According to the most recent SRTR data, Medical City Fort Worth and Medical City Dallas Kidney Transplant Institutes combined to perform 297 kidney transplants, 55 of which were transplants from living donors. The two programs share resources including data and best practices, resulting in exceptional outcomes and survival rates.
