Jessica O'Neal, MHA, FACHE
Jessica O’Neal, MHA, FACHE, was named chief executive officer of Medical City Las Colinas in January 2022.
Prior to this role, O’Neal served as the CEO of Medical City Children’s Hospital and Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas since 2018. There, she led all programs related to women’s and children’s services, launching and expanding world-class congenital heart and fetal surgery programs, among her many accomplishments. During her tenure, the facilities achieved Level IV Maternal and Level IV NICU designations, the highest level of care available for women and critically ill babies.
Prior to Medical City Healthcare, O’Neal served as the chief operating officer of HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. There, she launched a wide spectrum of pediatric services including orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonology, ENT, GI, urology and imaging services.
O’Neal earned a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Texas Christian University. She serves on the board of directors for the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council and Community Partners of Dallas.
Marcus Jackson, FACHE
Marcus Jackson, FACHE, was named chief operating officer of Medical City Las Colinas in June 2023.
Jackson brings extensive leadership and operational experience. He previously served as vice president of operations and co-ethics and compliance officer at Medical City Arlington. During his tenure, he held executive oversight and decision-making responsibilities for several major capital improvement projects, including the grand opening of Medical City Women’s Hospital Arlington and Medical City ER Red Oak, completing a seven-story parking garage and a 90,000-square-foot medical office building on campus.
Jackson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry and Leadership at Dallas Christian College, a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Systems Management from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Arts in New Testament Preaching from Johnson Bible College. He also earned his Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Care from El Centro College. Jackson is a United States Marine Corps Reserve veteran.
Joseph Berumen, DNP, RN, CCRN-K, NEA-BC
Joseph Berumen joined Medical City Las Colinas as chief nursing officer in July 2022. Berumen brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience, including executive and senior leadership positions.
Berumen served previously as CNO at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Centennial. Prior to that role, he was director of critical care at Medical City McKinney and later, the assistant chief nursing officer where he helped improve quality, employee engagement and retention.
Berumen earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Executive Leadership and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American Nurses Association and the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives. He is on the Nursing Advisory Council for Western Governors University and was elected to Texas Nurses Association Leadership Succession Committee.
Maria Garvin
Maria Garvin joined Medical City Las Colinas as chief financial officer in August 2023.
Prior to this role, Garvin served as chief financial officer and ethics and compliance officer at HCA Healthcare's UCF Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando, Florida. There, she was responsible for establishing and implementing numerous processes for a new 64-bed hospital, enhancing earnings and monitoring all components of ethics and compliance.
Garvin began her career at HCA Healthcare in 2002 with St. David's Medical Center in Austin as a staff accountant and financial analyst. She has served in progressive leadership roles at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, Heart Hospital of Austin, St. David's Georgetown Hospital and Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare.
Garvin holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from St. Edwards University. She is a 2021 graduate of the HCA Healthcare Executive Development program.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Medical City Las Colinas furthers the mission of the hospital by ensuring high-quality patient care in coordination with hospital leadership, advising on community needs and advocating on behalf of the hospital. Trustees represent key corporate, philanthropic and physician leaders from the Las Colinas community.
