A 16-year-old Uplift North Hills Preparatory sophomore turned a community service project into a full-circle moment and show of gratitude for Medical City Las Colinas.

Rimsha Fatima contacted Medical City Las Colinas and explained that she wanted to donate a painting to the labor and delivery nurses as part of a school assignment. At just 16, she is a gifted artist and thought this was the perfect opportunity to show off her talent, particularly since Fatima was also born at Medical City Las Colinas.

“I just love the work they do and want to give them something to brighten their days,” she says.

Fatima presented Women’s Services with her painting depicting a peaceful, underwater scene with various marine life. The scene mirrors the calmness and serenity of the Labor & Delivery department. Fatima met with colleagues and thanked them for their service to the Irving community.

“It’s inspiring to see such thoughtfulness and creativity from our community’s youth,” says Chief Operating Officer Marcus Jackson. “The painting will serve as a source of inspiration for our dedicated colleagues. We are truly grateful for this thoughtful contribution.”
