Blood donations critically important amid winter weather
Medical City Las Colinas, and the American Red Cross, will host a blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Irving – Harsh weather conditions, such as the storm North Texas experienced last week, along with seasonal illnesses, holiday vacations and closed schools, slow blood donations and deplete supplies. In response, Medical City Las Colinas, together with the American Red Cross, will host a blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at:

Donors can sign up online or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Potential donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. People who present to give blood should eat a nourishing meal before donating and must bring a photo ID. Learn more about donor eligibility guidelines here.
