- A Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) offering specialized care for babies born early or in need of additional support following birth — staffed with experienced, compassionate clinicians fully trained in obstetric and neonatal medicine
- Family overnight-stay room for NICU patient family members needing extra attention while learning to care for their baby before going home
- Full-service newborn nursery. Choose to keep your baby with you, or our specially trained nursery team will care for your baby while you rest. The choice is yours.
Private birthing and postpartum care
The private labor, delivery and recovery rooms at Medical City Women’s Hospital McKinney are designed to provide a calming environment for your delivery baby’s birth. Each room is fully outfitted with leading-edge equipment, a delivery bed, a sofa sleeper, a flat-screen TV and lighting options.
Our thoughtfully designed rooms allow plenty of space for you and your family. We even have a slide-and-glide rocker for your baby's first rocking chair. After your baby is born, you and your partner can enjoy a gourmet celebratory meal specially prepared for you by our chef.
Once you deliver your new baby, you will move to a private room in our postpartum unit. The postpartum rooms provide a peaceful atmosphere for recovery to prepare for your return home. Your doctor will determine when you may be discharged from the hospital.

Texas Ten Step Program
Medical City McKinney continues to improve the health of newborns and infants in Collin County through efforts to increase breastfeeding, including our facility’s re-designation through the Texas Ten Step Program from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Medical City McKinney has been designated five times as a Texas Ten Step Program hospital.

Preregister for labor and delivery
When you go into labor, the last thing you want to think about is paperwork. To avoid this, we encourage you to preregister for your delivery at least two months before your due date. We make it easy—you only need to complete our online preregistration form. After the form is complete, the staff at our hospital takes care of the rest of the process for you.
