Medical City Lewisville offers an active Volunteer Program for all adults and we also welcome students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. We invite you to join us in providing professional, supportive, and dependable service to enhance the care of patients and the comfort of visitors.

NOTE: We do not offer a Cuddle Program with infants.

What do volunteers do?

  • Staff Information Desk in Main Lobby (available Saturday and Sunday)
  • Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care in various departments
  • Answer phones and clerical work in various departments
  • Hospitality Host
  • Positions in most every department and additional opportunities are bring developed

What are the requirements?

A good attitude, a gentle smile and a helping hand! Each volunteer at Medical City Lewisville is a valued member of our hospital team.

Volunteering in a hospital environment requires a special training and orientation program that is designed to provide for the needs of our patients and family members. To meet all regulatory guidelines, volunteer applicants must:

  • Be of the minimum age 18 years old
  • Attend a 4-hour volunteer orientation
  • Complete hospital-provided health screenings including a drug and TB screening
  • Agree to a background check and provide social security number
  • Volunteer for a 4 hour shift at least 1 day per week
  • Shift times are usually 8-noon and noon-4 but can/will be adjusted according to the placement
  • Commit to a minimum of 6 months of service
  • Attend training for specified placement area if needed
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read English. ESL is acceptable and welcomed
  • Meet other training or regulatory guidelines as needed

How do I become a volunteer at Medical City Lewisville?
