Adult volunteer program at Medical City Frisco
Medical City Frisco volunteers are respected members of the healthcare team. Whether they are escorting patients to their destination, providing clerical assistance, or serving as a family liaison, their support is an essential ingredient in delivering the highest quality health care available in Collin County. We invite you to join our diverse team of energetic, dedicated, and compassionate volunteers.
Volunteer service areas include:
- Greeters and guides
- Information desk
- Patient floor assistants
- Chaplain services
- Clerical support
- Inpatient rehab
Volunteers shifts are scheduled in four-hour increments once a week (seven days a week) from 8:00am to 12:00pm, 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Volunteer requirements
Commitment: Due to the resources and time invested in volunteer training, we require a minimum commitment of one four-hour shift per week for a minimum of six months. There are no exceptions.
Age: Must be 18 years old or older.
Background check: All prospective volunteers must be willing to complete a background check. Requirements for the background check are: driver’s license number, social security number or ITIN as well as current and former address(es).
Health screening: New volunteers must complete a tuberculosis (TB) skin test, which is completed at our facility at no charge to the volunteer unless guidelines are not followed. New volunteers need to provide a current list of immunizations.
New volunteer orientation: All new volunteers must attend a new volunteer orientation session. Volunteers will also receive training respective to the area in which they will be volunteering.
Uniform: A blue volunteer jacket is provided by the facility. Volunteers must provide their own khaki pants and white shirt.
