After taking your electrocardiogram (EKG), EMS can send your data directly to the doctors at the hospital. This means that, while you are en route to the ER, doctors are already prepping and ready to treat your heart attack or condition in the cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab).

Knowing the health of your heart is important. Early detection of heart disease or other abnormalities can help your doctor treat you more quickly and effectively. We don't "allow" emergency teams, we "enable" them: We also allow emergency teams to bring heart attack patients directly to our cath lab for immediate treatment.

Our cath lab is larger than typical cath labs, offering greater ease of use and more room for cardiologists and heart specialists to maneuver and have complete access to patients. That means heart doctors at Medical City Frisco can safely and quickly perform stress tests, radial artery catheterization, cardiac stenting and administer cardiac medications, as appropriate.
