Electroconvulsive therapy ECT

ECT is a safe, efficient and effective way to relieve symptoms of depression and other psychiatric illnesses. ECT can be more effective than antidepressant medication and transcranial magnetic stimulation. ECT can be performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis, depending on your needs.

ECT may benefit seniors age 55 or older who:  

  • Are in need of a definitive and rapid treatment method
  • Have had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and have the potential to regress rapidly
