  • Lactation consultants

  • Obstetric nurse practitioners

  • Neonatalogists (infant care doctors)
  • Pediatric hospitalists

Maternity services and amenities

Our birthing center offers many program features designed to give you a comfortable delivery and help you transition home with your new baby. We provide maternity suites with private bathrooms, TVs, wireless internet, sleeper sofa and phone.

Additionally, you will have access to education and family counseling to help you and your family care for your infant. Our program includes:

  • Breastfeeding support
  • Heatstroke prevention
  • Infant security and 24/7 monitoring
  • Lactation services
  • Post-birth complication awareness
  • Virtual prenatal and newborn education

NICU services

Some infants need additional support after they're born. If that is your experience, our neonatologists and pediatric hospitalists oversee your child's care around the clock in our Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), as designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Should your baby need more advanced care, our TeleNICU service keeps us in virtual contact with the nearest children's hospital. This service allows our doctors to keep your newborn in our NICU without moving your newborn. If advanced care becomes necessary, we immediately transfer your baby quickly and efficiently.

Postpartum depression services

The birth of a little one can trigger a mix of emotions including excitement, glee, anxiety and sometimes even depression. If symptoms persist for more than two weeks, it may be postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is not a sign of weakness, but it is serious and should not be ignored.

You should seek immediate medical attention if you find yourself experiencing symptoms, including:

  • Difficulty bonding with your newborn
  • Feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness or inadequacy
  • Lack of appetite or overeating
  • Loss of energy, fatigue or insomnia
  • Severe anxiety
  • Severe mood swings or excessive crying
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
  • Withdrawal from loved ones
