Should your baby need more advanced care, the pediatric hospitalists have relationships with Cook CMC and Alliance neonatalogy for consultation and transfer.

Postpartum depression services

The birth of a little one can trigger a mix of emotions including excitement, glee, anxiety and sometimes even depression. If symptoms persist for more than two weeks, it may be postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is not a sign of weakness, but it is serious and should not be ignored.

You should seek immediate medical attention if you find yourself experiencing symptoms, including:

  • Difficulty bonding with your newborn
  • Feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness or inadequacy
  • Lack of appetite or overeating
  • Loss of energy, fatigue or insomnia
  • Severe anxiety
  • Severe mood swings or excessive crying
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
  • Withdrawal from loved ones
