The experts at Medical City McKinney specialize in treating all types of mental health conditions in adults, including:

  • Anxiety disorders, such as anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder, depression and thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Thought disorders, such as schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia
  • Additional emotional, psychological and social issues, such as grief, life stress or trauma, and relationship challenges

Adult inpatient services

Our adult inpatient program offers 24-hour support in a secure setting for anyone age 18 or older  with a new or ongoing psychiatric diagnosis. Substance abuse issues can be addressed if they co-occur with a psychiatric diagnosis.

Upon admission, patients undergo a comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessment, after which, an individualized treatment plan is developed by the patient, and their family or support system. We believe both patient and family education and emotional support is essential to a patient’s growth and healing. Our treatment plans promote cognitive, psychosocial, behavioral, spiritual and emotional development in individuals so they can return to their daily lives.

Treatment priorities include:

  • Coping skills
  • Group therapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Medication management
  • Multi-family group
  • Recreational therapy
  • Stress management strategies
