Medical City Weatherford achieves Level III Trauma Designation
The only advanced trauma facility in Parker County offers 24-hour specialty care
Weatherford – Medical City Weatherford has been officially designated a Level III Trauma Center by the Texas Department of State Health Services. The designation recognizes the hospital as an advanced trauma facility providing 24-hour, immediate emergency care for a variety of needs.

The Level III Trauma designation involves a rigorous survey process, adhering to the standards set by the American College of Surgeons. It requires the ability to offer prompt assessment, resuscitation, emergency operations, intensive care, and stabilization of injured patients.

- 24-hour, in-house coverage by ER physicians and anesthesiology, plus rapid availability of surgical specialists including general, neurology, orthopedic and trauma
- Continuing education for nursing and trauma teams
- An active community outreach program and coordination of prevention efforts
