Become a part of our dedicated team of volunteers at Medical City Denton and contribute to our mission of providing care to our community.

Thank you for your interest in the volunteer program at Medical City Denton. Volunteers are respected members of the health care team at our hospital. Whether they are escorting patients to their destination, providing clerical assistance or serving as a family liaison in the Single Day Surgery Center, volunteers support is an essential ingredient in delivering the highest quality health care available in Denton County.

Can you think of a better way to give back to the community in which you live and work? If you have a minimum of four hours a week to share, we encourage you to take the first step to join our wonderful family of volunteers. We invite you to join our diverse team of energetic, dedicated and compassionate volunteers.

Volunteers are needed throughout the hospital in areas that include, but not limited to:

  • Greeters & Guides
  • Information Desk (Main Hospital Lobby)
  • Golf Cart Drivers
  • Single Day Surgery Unit- Patient / Family Liaison
  • Emergency Department - Patient / Family Liaison
  • Patient Floor Assistants
  • Food and Nutrition Services
  • Medical Records
  • Clerical Support

In addition, volunteers also assist with and support special events and fundraisers.

Volunteer application process

Prospective volunteers must complete the Application for Volunteer Services and the Authorization for Background Investigation. Volunteers must also schedule an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss scheduling and position openings


Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Consent to a Background Investigation Check
  • Complete a Health Screening with Medical City Denton’s Occupational Medicine Department
  • Consent to TB testing (at hospital expense)
  • Attend a 3-hour Volunteer Orientation
  • Commit to a minimum of 6 months of service (working one 4-hour shift per week)

How do I get started

  1. Please request an application for Volunteer Services Form from the front desk in the main lobby of the hospital.
  2. Schedule an interview by calling (940) 384-3102.
  3. Following the interview, you may expect to be sent to the Human Resources Department for processing.
  4. A background check, drug screen and TB test (all done at the hospital's expense) will be performed.
  5. When test results and background check clear, you will be scheduled for a two-hour hospital orientation.
  6. Following orientation, you will be scheduled for training in the department of choice and that is best suited to your interests and skills.
  7. Then the fun begins!
