For visitors

As of March 21, 2023:

• To ensure a safe care environment, Medical City Healthcare will rely on the Community Level of COVID-19 activity to determine our mask policy.
• Because the Community Level is currently “low” for Collin, Dallas, Denton, Parker, and Tarrant counties, masking is now optional for employees, medical staff and visitors in all of our facilities, including hospitals, surgery centers and outpatient clinics. Masks may still be required in areas of more complex care, such as intensive care or transplant units.
• Visitation for COVID-19 patients or patients under investigation (PUI) is determined by the patient’s attending physician. In-person visitation may be restricted if an attending physician determines that in-person visitation may lead to the transmission of an infectious agent that poses a serious community health risk.
  • Special consideration is given in end-of-life situations or when a visitor is essential for the patient’s emotional well-being and care. These visitors will be required to wear appropriate PPE.

• COVID-19-positive individuals may not visit.
• By entering, visitors acknowledge they have not recently been exposed to a COVID-19-positive individual and are not experiencing any of the following symptoms:
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
• Masking is now optional for employees, medical staff and visitors in all of our facilities, including hospitals, surgery centers and outpatient clinics. Masks may still be required in areas of more complex care, such as intensive care or transplant units.
• Exposed visitors (e.g., contact with COVID–19 patient(s) prior to admission) should be advised to report any signs and symptoms of acute illness to their healthcare provider for a period of at least 14 days after the last known exposure to the sick patient.

Visitation at Medical City Green Oaks may be limited. Please call in advance of visiting.

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to aid with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.

Insurance

We accept most insurance plans. If you have questions about your coverage at our facility, please call your insurance company.

Co-payments / Coinsurance

Co-payments and coinsurance amounts are determined by your insurance company and based on specific plan benefits. Please check with your insurance company to see what your co-payments are prior to admissions.

Pre-Authorization

Your insurance company may require authorization prior to a procedure being done. Please check with your insurance company to see if they require pre-authorization prior to any elective procedure. Your physician's office can assist you with the pre-authorization process.

Pre-Registration

Pre-registration should be completed prior to the date of service in order to expedite your check-in process.

The Medical City Denton Coffee Shop is located in the entrance lobby on the first floor of the main hospital building.

Snacks and beverages are available 24 hours a day in vending machines that are located in the Emergency Department waiting area.

To connect to Medical City Denton's Wi-Fi high-speed Internet service, follow these simple steps:

1. Start with your Wi-Fi enabled device turned off.
2. Turn your device on and ensure that it is connected to the "Guest_Access" SSID/Network Name.
3. Launch your web browser. You should see the "Guest_Access" Welcome Page. Select your connection option. If you do not see the "Guest_Access" Welcome Page, you may need to configure the SSID or Network Name to "Guest_Access".
4. You are now connected and can launch your VPN, email or other Web software.

Hospital chaplaincy services promote the healing of our patients and the welfare of our staff by extending care, compassion, and spiritual resources in a respectful and individualized way to persons of all cultural and religious heritages.

Linda Strange, Coordinator of Spiritual Care, is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains. She holds a master's degree in religious education from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and a Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas. She did her Clinical Pastoral Education at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. After her chaplain residency at Northwest Texas Hospital, Linda served as a staff chaplain at High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo. She then moved to Denton where she served as chaplain at Ann's Haven Hospice. Linda began her ministry at Medical City Denton in 1998.
