Steven Edgar, FACHE PT

Chief Executive Officer

In 2016, Steven Edgar joined Medical City Denton from Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, a 99-bed acute care hospital in Wichita, Kansas, where he served as CEO for four years. During his tenure at Wesley Woodlawn he achieved outstanding patient satisfaction and employee engagement, and expanded service lines including ER, cardiology, and surgical services.

Prior to Wesley Woodlawn, Edgar served as Chief Operating Officer and Associate Administrator of the 760-bed Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, leading volume growth strategies, physician relations and recruitment, staffing, capital construction, and ancillary patient care departments.

Edgar holds a bachelor's degree in health science-physical therapy from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a Master of Public Administration - health administration, from University of Missouri, Kansas City. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Cole Kendrick

Chief Operating Officer

Cole Kendrick joined Medical City Denton as Chief Operating Officer in May 2024. Prior to that, he served as the assistant chief operating officer for HCA Healthcare’s Methodist Hospital | Metropolitan since November 2023, where he has provided executive oversight to business development, facilities management and security. He previously served as vice president of operations at Methodist Hospital | Northeast.

Cole earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Texas A&M University. He recently graduated from the HCA Healthcare Executive Development Program.


Brandy Stegall, MSN, RN, NEA-BC

Chief Nursing Officer

Brandy Stegall was named the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Medical City Denton in March 2019. Prior to that, Brandy was the CNO at Medical City Lewisville for five years. In total, Brandy has 25 years of nursing experience and has spent the last 18 years serving in progressive leadership positions within HCA. Her clinical nursing experience includes emergency medicine, critical care and cardiac catheterization lab.

Brandy has facilitated three Magnet accreditations and achieved multiple Unit of Distinction Awards, including HCA’s number one emergency department for the past three years.

During Brandy’s tenure within Medical City Healthcare, she has led with expertise and an uncompromising commitment to patient experience, while driving a culture of exceptional clinical quality, unparalleled nursing retention and employee engagement.

With a passion for adults with special needs, Brandy has served as the chair of the board for Special Abilities of North Texas since 2014. She also serves on the advisory board for Texas Woman’s University and North Central Texas College.

Brandy received an associate’s degree in nursing from Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from North Georgia College, and a master’s degree from Walden University. She is board certified in executive administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and is an active member of the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives. She was also selected as one of the “Dallas-Fort Worth Great One Hundred Nurses” in 2014.
