Medical City Denton achieves bariatric re-accreditation

Medical City Denton receives second accreditation from the MBSAQI.

Denton, TX – Medical City Denton has earned its second accreditation from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) by following a rigorous review process in accordance with nationally recognized bariatric surgical standards, in conjunction with the American College of Surgeons.

To qualify for accreditation, Medical City Denton’s inpatient surgery center demonstrated recognized bariatric surgical standards and passed an independent, voluntary and rigorous peer evaluation which promotes uniform standard benchmarks and supports continuous quality improvement.

Expert surgeons at The Bariatric & Metabolic Institute at Medical City Denton offer a full range of weight loss surgeries based on individual patient needs, including:

  • Gastric bypass
  • Gastric banding
  • Sleeve gastrectomy
  • Duodenal switch
  • Revision surgery

The Bariatric & Metabolic Institute at Medical City Denton incorporates medical, nutritional, psychological and surgical components to aid in weight loss. The multidisciplinary team performs an evaluation before surgery, provides on-site education and care after surgery, and provides follow-up treatment to help make sustainable changes in weight loss. Maximum weight loss is typically achieved in 18 months.
