Tele-psychiatry Services

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Medical City Green Oaks Hospital is open and stands ready to assist patients who are in need of emergent psychiatric help. As an added accommodation, Medical City Green Oaks offers mental health solutions available to new and existing patients remotely. Our clinical staff can guide you through each step—from the initial appointment to ongoing tele-treatment.

Services are detailed below. Patients have the option to attend in person or from home.

Medical City Green Oaks accepts most major health insurance plans, several Medicaid and Medicare plans for psychiatry and most major insurance plans for outpatient programs and counseling. There is also a cash pay option.

Psychiatry

The Oak Counseling & Psychiatric Services offers virtual psychiatry and medication management for adults 17 and older and children 3 and older. Schedule an appointment during normal business hours by calling (972) 770-1032.

Counseling services

Licensed therapists offer virtual counseling for individuals, couples and adolescents. Please call one of our locations to schedule an assessment:

Day treatment and partial hospitalization

This option is for patients with a mental health and/or chemical dependency diagnosis who do not meet criteria for inpatient care. Doctors and medical staff monitor medications routinely and make adjustments as needed. The program allows patients virtually or in person.

WorkReturns Intensive Outpatient Program

This program addresses issues in a supportive environment in which clients can look at options and choices, to learn skills and overcome hurdles, they are facing in the work environment. Group members have the option to attend in person or through our virtual platform. Please call to schedule an assessment.

Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program

This comprehensive treatment program provides assistance to adults and their families through the early recovery stages of chemical dependency. Sessions are an equal mix of group therapy, life skills and education. The program is typically 8 weeks and a patient may enter the program at any point in the cycle. Adults must agree to abstain from using substances during treatment. Group members have the option to attend in person or through our virtual platform.

Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program

Students receive advice and tools to cope with depression, mood disorders, anger, oppositional/defiant behaviors, ADHD, relationship problems, self-endangering behaviors and poor social skills. Our staff communicates openly with parents and guardians to help build healthy relationships. Please call to schedule an assessment.

Outpatient mental health services

Although Medical City Green Oaks is a psychiatric hospital, we also offer outpatient mental health facilities with expanding programs to provide care to patients across North Texas. Our locations offer patients a variety of services, such as:

Drug and alcohol program

A high percentage of patients who commit to our drug and alcohol program for adults, they tend to complete drug and alcohol addiction treatment and attend 12 step groups at a high rate. As a result, patients not only get sober, they stay sober.

Electroconvulsive therapy

For patients who are unresponsive to traditional therapy and medication management, Medical City Green Oaks offers inpatient and outpatient electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services, which has been proven as a safe and effective form of treatment for people with certain mental illnesses. For example, ECT is a treatment for severe, medication-resistant depression.

Before considering ECT, a full evaluation is required to ensure ECT is safe for the patient. This evaluation usually includes:

  • A medical history
  • A full physical exam
  • A psychiatric assessment
  • Basic blood tests
  • An electrocardiogram (ECG) and chest X-ray to check heart and lung health
  • Anesthesiologist review

ECT is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
