Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care facilitates spiritual support, counsel and ecclesiastical ministry for patients, their family members and for staff members of the hospital.

Our Pastoral Care Staff is comprised of volunteer Pastoral Care Chaplains.

The chapel is a space for prayer and meditation for all, and is open 24 hours a day. It is located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital.

Our hospital chaplains serve in a variety of faith traditions.

The chapel at Medical City North Hills is open to all faiths. Please contact Medical City North Hills to assist in meeting specific religious needs.

Guest and Concierge Services

Our Concierge Services are available for patients Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, by calling extension *51150 from any hospital phone or outside the hospital, or (817) 255-1150 from outside the hospital.

Comfort items

Comfort kits are available for patients in their room. You will also be provided with a list of nearby restaurants in your admission packet. We have the following available for patients and guests, as needed:

  • Comb
  • Sleeping eye mask
  • Tissue
  • Toothpaste, toothbrush

*To ensure the health and well-being of our patients, all food requests will be reviewed in consideration of the doctor-prescribed diet order. If you have dietary or health restrictions, our team will work with you to find a more appropriate substitute.

General Patients

Visitors are limited to two (2) per room. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Quiet Time is held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm each day to encourage quiet rest and healing for the patient. This is a period of time of low stimulation with few or no interruptions. Family and friends are asked not to visit patients during this time.

Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit (CCU) has Family Centered Visiting but we ask that no more than two (2) visitors are in the room at one time. No children under the age of 12 are allowed. Family members and/or friends cannot sleep or eat at the patient bedside. The CCU is closed daily from 10:00pm – 8:00am and from 6:00pm – 8:00pm to allow time for certain aspects of patient care.

Free Parking

Free patient and visitor parking is available at both the Main Entrance and Outpatient Services entrances of the hospital.

ATM and Vending Machines

For your convenience, an automatic teller machine and vending machines are available in a room off the main lobby on the first floor.

Meal Service

  • Cafeteria - The hospital cafeteria is located on the first floor, adjacent to the Main Lobby. The cafeteria offers sandwiches, hot meals, a salad bar and a grill menu. The cafeteria is open Monday-Friday for breakfast from 7:00am - 9:00am, and for lunch from 11:00am - 1:00pm.
  • For patient meal requests between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm, please call *51651 from a hospital phone or (817) 255-1651 from outside the hospital.

Guest Meal Trays

Family members may order a guest tray to be delivered to the patient's room during regular meal service hours at an additional cost. Please come down to the cafeteria to purchase your meal voucher.

Internet Access

Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access is available throughout the hospital, including patient rooms and public areas, free of charge for the convenience of our patients and guests. To log on to the network simply select Guest_Access from any wireless device and click agree to join the network. The network does not require a password or username.

Pastoral Care

Illness often turns one's attention to spiritual matters. The hospital chapel is located on the second floor in the hospital. The chapel is open at all times to every denomination. A hospital chaplain is available throughout the week and may be requested by calling the hospital operator. Please tell your nurse if you would like a chaplain visit.

Patient Advocacy

Our leadership team is available to answer any questions you may have regarding hospital procedures, accommodating special needs and/or to advocate on your behalf regarding questions or concerns. If you're a patient, ask to speak with your nurse for prompt resolution. If you've been discharged, call the hospital at (817) 255-1194 and ask for the appropriate department manager or director for assistance.

Case Management

For questions surrounding discharge planning or completing an Advanced Directive, ask your nurse to contact your case manager.

Security

Uniformed security guards are available on the medical campus 24 hours a day for the benefit of patients and visitors. If you or your family need escort services to a parked vehicle, contact the hospital operator.

Valuables and Personal Belongings

We request that you leave all valuables at home. Medical City North Hills does not accept responsibility for lost or stolen valuables or personal items. If necessary, your nurse can arrange to store small items in the hospital safe.
