Medical City Green Oaks Hospital is happy for you to bring needed items for your loved one.
What NOT to bring on our units
To maintain a safe environment on our units the following items are not allowed on the units.
- Outside food or *medication
- Cell phones
- Glass items (Please note that if you have flowers delivered they must be in a plastic vase)
- Cameras
- Lighters/Matches
- Large sums of money
- Tape Recorders
- Razors or any other contraband
- Soft candy/chocolate
- Cigarettes – Must be in unopened packs
- Pens (We supply pencils for our patients)
What you MAY bring on our units
You may bring
- Cordless electric razors
- Individually wrapped hard candy
- Less than $10 Cash
- Clothes (We suggest no more than 3 days worth – no drawstring on pants or jackets, no belts)
- Reading material
Smoke and tobacco-free policy
Effective July 1, 2015, Medical City Green Oaks Hospital is committed to the safety and well being of all employees, patients, physicians, and others who visit the Green Oaks campus. In order to provide a healthy and safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians and employees the hospital prohibits smoking.

*Medication may be brought to the unit if the physician or nurse has requested it. Medication must be checked in by the patient’s nurse.

I live in the middle of the DFW area and am not sure which outpatient clinic is the best one for me. How do I decide where to start?
Just call any of our outpatient clinic locations in Dallas, Plano, or Las Colinas and someone will be glad to help you find the right service.

How soon can I get an appointment?
Patients may self-present to the Medical City Green Oaks Hospital Dallas front lobby 24 hours a day 7 days a week. An appointment can be scheduled online by selecting the Schedule Appointment button in the top right corner of your web browser. Please call the outpatient clinics directly or call Connections (972) 770-0818 for appointment information.
Do I need to bring a list of my current medications with me when I come for an assessment?
Yes, please bring a current list of your medications (or your family member’s medications) to the hospital. The staff can discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your medications.
What if I have a complaint about my care?
At Medical City Green Oaks Hospital, we want you to be satisfied with you or your family’s care. If you have any concerns or comments about the care given, please contact our Patient Advocate line at (972) 770-0853 during regular business hours, or if you are calling after business hours, on the weekends or holidays, please call (972) 991-9504 and ask to speak with a nursing supervisor. Submit a compliment or concern for immediate help by filling out our feedback form.
How does a patient pay for care?
We accept most private insurance plans, however some patients may qualify through the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority which provides behavioral healthcare for residents of Dallas, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro and Rockwall Counties. You can also visit our pay bill online.
How long is treatment?
The average length of stay for inpatient treatment can last anywhere between 1 to 7 days. The length of outpatient treatment varies from 1 to 6 weeks. Treatment duration is determined by doctor recommendations and appropriate level of care.

We accept all forms of government insurance from the U.S., Canada and other countries. We also accept Medicare, Medicaid, Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS), and workers compensation.

Advance directives are legal documents that allow you to give directions for your future medical care. Advance directives help you protect your right to request or refuse care.
