What makes Medical City Arlington different from other training programs?

We are a new program and your participation will not only lead to an excellent medical education for yourself, but will also give you a chance to participate in building the program.

Our administration and faculty are extremely flexible, highly accessible, and continually responsive to feedback in an effort to make the program the best it can be. Clinical skills and knowledge can be acquired anywhere, but we make it our mission to provide an environment where each resident feels like they are an individual and that we want them to succeed.

You will never be just a face in the crowd – you will form a close relationship not only with your peers but also with the faculty and administration, including the program director.

What is the patient care experience like at Medical City Arlington?

Medical City Arlington is a 432-bed full-service hospital located in South Arlington, Texas. It has more than 1,400 nurses, therapists, technicians and other healthcare personnel in addition to more than 700 highly skilled physicians in a wide range of medical specialties.

It is the only hospital to achieve Level II Trauma Center designation in Arlington. Its other designations are an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Heart and Vascular Center, Primary Stroke Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Continuing Care Nursery, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, and Cancer Care Program.

The community served by the hospital is very diverse and is one of the fastest growing areas in the DFW area.

Will I have an opportunity to do research?

Some form of scholarly activity; research, QI or a case report is required for graduation.

The Consortium has a Director of Research and Education whose role is to assist with the development of research projects that align with each resident’s particular areas of interest. In addition, all Core Faculty have a strong interest and experience with scholarly activity.
