Mission statement

As part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

We are committed to training Family Medicine residents to be committed to delivering healthcare, as it should be: patient centered, and for the good of all people, no matter their circumstances. We are committed to retaining the physicians that we train in order to better serve our communities.

The strength of our program is the tremendous depth and breadth of our clinical care. We provide an academically and clinically rigorous training program in family medicine.

Our dedicated faculty, supported by the significant resources of HCA Healthcare GME, will provide our residents with the basic and clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism, and the interpersonal skills necessary to become a successful Family Physician, and to develop as a leader in the healthcare field.

Our curriculum is designed to provide a broad clinical exposure in acute and chronic care, occurring in the outpatient and inpatient settings, for all age groups, including children, elderly and women's health. We are also committed to nurturing a robust interest in scientific investigation and evidence-based practice.

Why choose our program?

You will be able to evaluate, diagnosis and treat a variety of medical problems across all ages in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. You will have opportunities to perform procedures in the hospital during all of your rotations.

The Family Medicine Center, is designed to function as a real world practice to better prepare you for success after graduation. There you will have opportunities to learn common outpatient surgical, orthopedic, gynecologic and dermatologic procedures.

Incorporated in your continuity clinic will be a longitudinal curriculum on the business aspect of family medicine especially best practices models for primary care.
