FORT WORTH – Medical City Fort Worth Chief Nursing Officer Damita Williams, Ed.D, MSN, RN, will be named a Minority Leader in Business by the Fort Worth Business Press during a ceremony on December 12 at the Fort Worth Club.
The Fort Worth Business Press Minority Leaders in Business awards honor Tarrant County's top minority leaders in business and in the community. Honorees are chosen based on nominations, professional achievements, community contributions, philanthropy and other milestones and awards.
"I am thankful and grateful to be recognized by the Fort Worth Business Press," said Williams. "This honor would not be possible without the great team at Medical City Fort Worth where I have the privilege of serving every day and many great women and men that have supported me throughout my career."
Williams has served as the chief nursing officer for Medical City Fort Worth since 2017. Prior to joining the Fort Worth leadership team, she held several chief nursing officer positions, most recently at HCA Healthcare's largest hospital, Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, a campus that includes Methodist Children's Hospital. In addition to more than three decades of service in healthcare, Williams has served as an adjunct faculty member for Indiana Wesleyan University's Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership Program. She is also committed to working with the underserved people in the Dominican Republic where she has served for more than 13 years as the clinic director with Hope International Ministries
