Outpatient mental health programs

Outpatient mental health programs offer you behavioral support and care from clinical experts but do not require you to be admitted to the hospital. You will participate in certain groups and therapy sessions during set times of the day but spend the night at home.

Some of our outpatient programs include:

  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP)
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
  • Chemical dependency IOP
  • Work Returns Program
  • Counseling
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders

Often, these programs are used as a step down from inpatient care or a step up from more routine outpatient care.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) treatments

We are proud to offer ECT therapy as a safe, effective way to relieve symptoms of depression and other severe or otherwise untreatable psychiatric illnesses. This can be a lifesaving therapy for many patients. You should talk to your doctor or one of our specialists about ECT if you:

  • Are in need of a rapid treatment for severe psychiatric symptoms
  • Have had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and your condition or symptoms may reoccur
  • Have or experience conditions such as depression or bipolar disorders (including mania, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia and catatonia) but have not had success with other treatment methods

This treatment option is available at both Medical City Green Oaks and Medical City McKinney.

Adolescent behavioral health
